This kitchen was created for our own Customer Liaison, Sarah Ainslie. Having worked for 3Style Kitchens for 2 years, Sarah naturally wanted to use us for her own kitchen when the time came. That said, she still looked around at other kitchen companies in order to effectively compare the different providers.
“Working for 3Style, I thought I had a good idea of the process and how it all worked but it’s quite different when you are the customer. It really gave me a good insight into how difficult it is to choose and create the right kitchen and it’s quite surprising how much the price and quality varies across different suppliers.
We did of course choose 3Style but that decision was genuinely based on getting the best quality for the budget we had available.”
Sarah’s new kitchen was completely re-modelled from the existing space with much of the old kitchen area becoming a living space, a wall between the old kitchen and the utility room coming out and the new kitchen created using space from the old utility and part of the old kitchen area.
The feel of the kitchen was influenced by the Victorian style patterned tiles on the splashback area. Taking the French grey from the tile palate, they chose a painted wood kitchen with Shaker style doors and pewter cup handles to create a vintage theme. A cream range cooker completed the look and light oak worktops and flooring ensured it still looked contemporary: vintage yet not old fashioned.
Sarah was really pleased with the outcome:
“We were really delighted with the finished kitchen. It wasn’t the cheapest kitchen we saw but we do feel that it was the best value for money because the quality is so good. Because it was quite a complex project, making it work in a completely different space, Dean was able to give us some really valuable advice on how best to approach it. The new layout is much more functional than the old one and the Portland kitchen works so well with the tiles. The transformation is unrecognisable.
I now know how it feels to be on the other side, as the customer, and I wasn’t disappointed at all. I would definitely recommend them to anyone considering getting a new kitchen.”
